& your love is all i ever wanted

After today's horrible experience i had shopping with my parents at marina square - it confirmed what i had long believed before. NEVER shop with your parents. ('cept if u want the spare cash, of course. =P) trust me. u'll be MUCH better off buying clothes with your pals.

some cases to prove my point.

Scenario A: You pick up a daring shirt (eg gaudy design/PINK/totally radical etc).
Friends: "Eh so cool! where you gonna wear it to sia?"
Parents: "Put that back! I'm not gonna waste my money on something like that! not nice!"

Scenario B: You pick up something the other party doesn't really like.
Friends: "Oh. Are you sure you wanna wear that? i think this other piece over here suits you better. maybe you want to reconsider?"
Parents: "Put that back! I'm not gonna waste my money on something like that! not nice!"

Scenario C: You pick up a costly item.
Friends: "Ouch. better start saving lah someone!"
Parents: "My money pluck from tree one ar?" or "Your father/mother print money one ar?"

Scenario D: Black clothes.
Friends: "Oooh. Classy!"
Parents: "Buy black again? You going funeral meh?"

Scenario E: Accessories.
Friends: "A little bling never hurt anyone."
Parents: "So ah beng! You want join gang is it?!"

Scenario F: Miscellaneous.
Friends: "Oh i saw this before! you can totally get it at a cheaper price elsewhere! come i show you!"
Parents: "So expensive... we go somewhere else buy lah..." - and i somehow end up not getting it at all.

see what i mean? friends are generally more helpful! of course i'm only basing this on my parents.. i know many others out there who are more okay with this kinda thing. you know, those who actually keep up with changing times. =P okay that was mean. my parents are okay lah, they just need to be more flexible i guess.
